I met with two of my clients yesterday who attended the event and both were quite pleased at the level of attention and services they received. Both had clean new clothes on and new hats, were well fed and both were much more optimistic about their futures than they were the last time we chatted. Too bad our veteran's administration couldn't ensure this occurred every day for our vets.... Homeless Veterans Receive Help About 300 homeless veterans were able to get a little help on the road to recovery Sunday.

“Operation Stand Down” was held at the Tennessee State National Guard headquarters in south Nashville. The program provides homeless vets with a free meal, shower, clothes and medical advice. Organizers like Don Samuels said they want to help them get back on their feet. “It’s kind of ashamed I must say in this country that we even have homeless veterans that have served their country. Many of them have sacrificed for their country to be homeless and on the streets,” said Samuels. About 100 volunteers came to help out with Operation Stand Down.
