Indiscriminate violence against those experiencing homelessness has always been a problem. Just because an individual doesn't currently have a place to call home doesn't then mean the person has lost all the protections afforded those in a civilized society. This is also why morons who do stupid shit like putting up "wanted" posters of people who are homeless are such a danger to the safety and civil rights of those who are homeless....

A 48-year-old homeless man was shot this morning on the 2800 block of Saranac Avenue in suburban West Palm Beach.

A witness heard three gunshots around 12:18 a.m. and saw a light-colored Honda Accord flee the area where the gunshots came from, said Palm Beach County Sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barber.

The witness then saw Adorphia Lawrence lying along the side of the road, near the intersection of Saranac Avenue and Wabasso Drive.

Lawrence was shot in the right shin and the left front thigh area. He was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Barbera said.
