TWO drunken thugs who left a homeless man partially blind after an unprovoked attack have been jailed for two years.
Kwesi Mashiter, 30, of High Road, Ilford and Shaun Jones, 34, of Vicarage Road, Dagenham, savagely beat Ijaz Sayeed in the street, detatching his retina, cracking his jaw, and knocking out six teeth.
Mr Sayeed, had been on his way to the Welcome drop-in centre, in Green Lane, Ilford, when he was leapt upon by the two men, on June 5 last year.
Both men admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
Jones also admitted one count of entering a building with intent to steal, one charge of burglary on January 9 and 27 this year, and failing to attend at court on April 3.
He was handed a further seven months on top of his two-year sentence.
