NASHVILLE, Tenn. - More than 800,000 Tennesseans could soon get a brand new phone and service for free.
TracFone Wireless is providing cell phones to low-income families who do not have a cell phone.
The phones will come with one hour of service each month and give them access to emergency numbers around the clock.
Those who help the homeless said that could help a lot of people find jobs.
"The toughest part is for people to be able to contact them and tell them they have a job ready," said Cliff Sharp, director of Greenhouse Ministries. "So many people do not have a job simply because nobody can get in touch with them."
