Homeless man robbed in Lost Park

CHICO — A homeless man was shot during a robbery about 4 a.m. in the Lost Park area, behind Sierra Central Credit Union, north of East First Street.

He was treated for a wound to his cheek and released from Enloe Medical Center later this morning.

The victim, Nathan Stevenson, 24, told police three white men in their late teens woke him up and demanded his wallet and money.

When Stevenson stood up, apparently to comply with their demands, one of the assailants fired multiple rounds from a hand gun, striking the victim once.

The suspects allegedly took the man's belongings and were last seen running from the park area.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Chico police at 897-4900.
