This update describes three major parts of the Housing Bill recently passed by Congress and signed by the President. The National Housing Trust Fund will primarily fund the development of rental housing affordable to extremely low income households. The Capital Magnet fund will provide resources to Community Development Financial Institutions and nonprofit housing developers for housing and economic development. Changes to the Low Income Housing Tax Credit will make it easier for the credit to be used for developing permanent supportive housing.
