Okay, there is no excuse for four guys beating and stabbing a man, but it seems to me that in this case, discretion is the better part of valor.

ELGIN, Ill. - Police in Elgin say they are seeking four people who beat and stabbed a homeless man during an altercation.
Police said in a statement that the attack occurred Friday afternoon on South State Street in downtown Elgin. The victim 22-year-old Robert Robbins told officers he traded words with four males outside a convenience store, and the altercation later turned physical.
Police say Robbins fled to the Metra commuter train lot, where he was surrounded by the subjects, beaten and stabbed.
Robbins was treated at a local hospital and released later Friday.
