From McKinney-Vento to HEARTH

I recently sat in on a "brown bag" staff meeting and while we enjoyed our lunch, Fred Berman, the "big honcho" of homeless services for Cambridge, MA provided us with an incredibly informative session on the progression of federal assistance over the years.  Not only was it fascinating to follow the evolution of homeless services, the info he provided, especially regarding the new HEARTH Act, is invaluable for understanding where we're heading, as well as what we as communities can look forward to.  You can check out Fred's presentation here: (https://admin.na6.acrobat.com/_a966410469/p52188900/?launcher=false&fcsContent=true&pbMode=normal) and while some of it may be a little dry for some folks, it's definitely worth sitting through if you're at all interested in homelessness and how our government has attempted to address it.

One warning; you may need to install some Adobe components to view the slides but it's definitely worth it.
