A Final Goodbye

We put Cindi Demuth to rest here in Nashville yesterday. As many of you who've been reading here for a while know, Cindi died back in February from complications of her diabetes. She was pregnant and the child went with her. It was a difficult ordeal to get her back to her kin but thanks to the assistance of her cousin Donna, the Nashville Homeless Power Project, Tonya Watts and her friend Jimmie Roxx, she finally made it back to Great Falls - her original home. But Cindi looked at Nashville as perhaps her real home, and nothing could make that clearer than when Clemmie Greenlee discovered, during the initial contact with local authorities in Mississippi, that Cindi had listed her and the NHPP as her "emergency contact." We said our final goodbyes on a rainy, miserable day; a day that a year ago Cindi herself would have been out and about on, trying to goad folks into dryer places before they caught a chill or a cold. That was what Cindi did, and she did it constantly. Never really concerned with her own welfare, she spent her time taking care of others. The world lost a servant's heart with the death of Cindi and thats a damned shame, since we're already so short on folks like her now....
