Didn't want to say anything until I knew it was official but I was recently contacted by my dear friend and colleague Janet Rosenberg, a top-notch paralegal over at Legal Aid here in Nashville, and invited to serve as a board member for the Nashville Coalition for the Homeless.At the Coalition/GAPS meeting yesterday, Scott Orman made the announcements and I was tickled pink, not to mention being both humbled and honored; I am so thrilled to be serving in this capacity and I'll most certainly serve the folks on the street to the best of my ability.
I have tremendous respect for the current and other new members and look forward to working with everyone on the board! I am going to enjoy immensely the challenges and efforts to end homelessness we'll be making over the next two years and hope we can make some real positive differences in the lives of those who are still struggling on the street.
Thanks to everyone who supported me through the decision-making process; there were many great candidates out there and I'm just so honored they decided to give me a shot at serving.
My term begins January 2010.
